Jesus Girls HTX started with a simple conversation.

One day after church, two young women were talking and asked a question that would change everything:
“Why don’t we fellowship with other women outside of church?”

That question stayed on their hearts, and soon they decided to plan a small coffee meet-up. It was scheduled for August 2022. The plan was simple—just gather a few women, talk about God, and spend time together.

But two weeks before the meet-up, Shanice had to travel to Canada. Suddenly, Jess was left to host the gathering alone.

At first,Jess felt nervous and unsure. ButJess also felt the leading of the Holy Spirit stronger than ever before. As the women gathered together that day, she quietly asked God, “What do You want me to say?”

In that moment, she felt the Lord speak to her heart:
“Just do it. Open your mouth, and let Me speak.”

So in simple obedience, she did.

What happened next was something only God could do. The presence of the Holy Spirit filled the room. As she spoke, women began to cry, pray, and have real, personal moments with God. When she opened her eyes, she realized this was no longer just a casual meet-up—it was a divine moment.

That day, she heard God say something that would shape everything that followed:
“Don’t put Me in a box. Just watch what I will do through this.”

What started as one small coffee meet-up has now grown into something far greater than anyone imagined.

Today, Jesus Girls HTX has grown into a thriving community of women seeking God together—through meet-ups, Bible studies, conferences, retreats, and unforgettable moments of fellowship. It has become a place where friendships are formed, faith is strengthened, and women encounter God in real and personal ways.

But at the heart of it all, one thing remains true:

This was never just an idea.
This was always God’s plan.

And we are simply honored to watch what He continues to do.
